Car insurance quote comparison worksheet
Line up quotes from several insurers, annualize the prices and flag where coverage differs, so you compare like with like before you switch.
Runs entirely in your browser: nothing you enter is sent or stored by this site. Results are estimates for planning, not a quote or advice.
What it does
Quotes rarely arrive in the same shape. One is for six months and another for twelve; one has 100/300 liability and another 50/100; one has a $500 collision deductible and another $1,000. The cheapest number on the page is often the one that covers least. The worksheet puts every quote in one grid, converts each premium to a yearly price, and lists the coverage differences you should resolve before choosing.
How to use it
- Get quotes with the same coverage wherever possible. Using your current declarations page as the template makes this easier; see what you need to get a car insurance quote.
- Enter each quote in its own column: insurer, term, premium, liability limits, uninsured motorist limits, PIP or MedPay, deductibles and extras.
- Read the ranking by yearly price, then the list of differences. Ask the insurers to re-quote anything that does not match.
- Save the worksheet in your browser if you are collecting quotes over several days, or print it.
What it checks
- Term: six-month and twelve-month premiums are converted to a yearly figure.
- Liability: quotes with lower bodily injury or property damage limits than the others are flagged.
- Uninsured motorist: missing entries are flagged, because some quotes leave it out where the state allows.
- Deductibles: different collision deductibles are flagged, since a higher deductible makes a quote look cheaper.
Privacy
The worksheet runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to this site or to any insurer. "Save" keeps a copy only in this browser on this device, and "Clear" removes it.
After you choose
Do not cancel your current policy until the new one is in force; a gap in coverage can raise future prices and break the law. See how to switch car insurance without a gap and what happens if your car insurance lapses.
