Overview
Incline P&C Group is not a car insurance brand you can call for a quote. It is a program carrier, often called a fronting carrier: its insurance companies hold the state licenses and the AM Best rating, and they issue policies that are designed, sold, priced and usually serviced by independent managing general agents (MGAs). The MGA's brand is what the driver sees in advertising and on the app; the Incline company appears on the declarations page as the insurer. Most of the risk is passed on to reinsurers that back each program.
The NAIC records this business under Incline Insurance Group LLC, which ranked #34 among U.S. private passenger auto insurers by 2025 direct premiums written according to NAIC market share data, with $1.06 billion in premiums and a 0.28% share. That premium represents many separate auto programs added together, not one consumer product.
Incline is privately owned and headquartered in Austin, Texas. It writes through four carriers: Incline Casualty Company, Incline National Insurance Company and Incline Americas Insurance Company, which it describes as multi-state admitted and non-admitted carriers, and Redpoint County Mutual Insurance Company, a Texas county mutual that Incline manages.
History
Incline P&C Group was founded in 2015 and launched Redpoint County Mutual that year to give MGAs access to the Texas market. In 2020 it acquired Worth Casualty Co. and Danielson National Insurance Co., renamed them Incline Casualty and Incline National, expanded its admitted footprint to 21 states and received an A- (Excellent) rating from AM Best.
In June 2023 Incline announced a $125 million growth equity investment from Braemont Capital. At that time it said its carriers were licensed in 44 states, distributed through 52 independent managing or general agents, and covered lines including private passenger auto, commercial auto, cargo, flood, homeowners, motorcycle, pet and workers' compensation. It reported more than $1 billion in annual written premium in 2023. In 2024 it launched Incline Americas Insurance Company to add excess and surplus lines capacity, beginning in Texas. Chris McClellan was named as president and CEO in that announcement. In July 2026 Incline expanded a partnership with Accelerant under which it fronts more than $500 million a year of commercial specialty premium, alongside its personal auto programs.
Auto insurance coverage
Because Incline only issues the policies, coverage, limits and optional extras are set by each MGA's program and the rate and form filings made in each state. A few personal auto programs on Incline paper have been publicly announced:
- Embark, a nonstandard auto MGA founded in 2018, used Incline to launch in California and then Florida in 2022. Its program targets drivers who struggle to find coverage, including people with foreign licenses, lapses in coverage or imperfect payment histories (see nonstandard auto insurance).
- Sensa, an Austin MGA, announced a preferred personal auto product with Incline in February 2022, pairing coverage with a crash sensor and emergency notification, starting in Illinois with Texas, Indiana and Ohio to follow.
- Loop, a Texas nonstandard auto insurer, operated under Redpoint County Mutual's license before Old American County Mutual (see Old American County Mutual) appointed it in 2025.
- In The Car, an embedded auto insurance MGA start-up, was reported by The Insurer to have launched on Incline paper in January 2025 (see embedded insurance: buying coverage from automakers and dealers).
These examples are not a complete list, and programs change over time. Your declarations page names the issuing company and the MGA that services your policy.
Discounts and programs
Incline does not set discounts or run a telematics program of its own. Any discounts, payment plans or usage-based pricing come from the MGA's filed program. Drivers comparing an MGA quote should ask the MGA, not Incline, which discounts apply.
Claims
Incline does not take claims or policy service requests directly. Its FAQ tells policyholders to use the contact details in their policy documents, which point to the issuing agency, and offers a policy-prefix lookup on its website that routes you to the right MGA. If you cannot find your agency, Incline's main line, 737-615-4700, can direct you. Incline says it oversees MGAs through performance monitoring, claims oversight and program audits, and it lists claims services among the services it offers its MGA partners.
Ratings and reputation
AM Best affirmed the A- (Excellent) financial strength ratings of Incline Casualty Company and Incline National Insurance Company and assigned the same rating to Incline Americas Insurance Company in March 2024, with stable outlooks; Incline's website still lists the A- rating and a Financial Size Category of VIII as of October 2026. AM Best cited very strong balance sheet strength, adequate operating performance and a limited business profile. AM Best's release does not include Redpoint County Mutual, so a policy written by Redpoint should not be assumed to carry the same rating (see how AM Best ratings work).
Day-to-day service on an Incline-backed policy is delivered by the MGA that administers it, so it is worth checking the MGA's reputation and your state's complaint records as well as the carrier's rating. The guide to county mutuals and fronting carriers explains how these arrangements work.
Who it suits
Incline is relevant to you only if your policy names one of its companies. In that case the useful facts are that the issuing carriers are rated A- by AM Best, that the MGA handles your service and usually your claims, and that you can escalate through Incline or your state insurance department if the MGA does not respond.
- Strengths: A- (Excellent) AM Best rating on its multi-state carriers; licensed widely; brings rated capacity to niche and nonstandard auto programs that might not otherwise exist; policy-prefix lookup to find your servicing agency.
- Weaknesses: No direct consumer service, quotes or claims; experience varies by MGA; Redpoint County Mutual is not covered by the AM Best rating release; programs can move to other carriers, which can mean a change of insurer at renewal.
